West Ham United are interested in signing Ivan Toney from Brentford in the summer of 2021, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that the Hammers are monitoring the former Peterborough United striker, who is emerging as an option for the London club.
The Hammers sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in the January transfer window, but they did not bring in a replacement striker. The London club reportedly wanted to take their time to sign a striker instead of rushing into making a decision.
Toney joined Brentford in the Championship from League One outfit Peterborough in the summer of 2020. The 24-year-old former Newcastle United striker has been superb for the Bees in the second tier of English football. According to WhoScored, the striker has scored 22 goals and provided seven assists in 27 Championship games for Brentford so far this season.
