West Ham United stance on Bournemouth striker Joshua King

West Ham United do not want to pay what Bournemouth are asking for Joshua King, according to The Guardian. It has been reported that the Premier League club are interested in signing the Norway international striker from the Championship side before the summer transfer window in England closes on October 16.

King is keen on a move back to the Premier League, with Bournemouth having been relegated to the Championship at the end of last season. The Cherries want as much as £17.5 million as transfer fee for the 28-year-old former Manchester United prospect, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

West Ham are interested in the striker, but they are not keen on paying £17.5 million for the 28-year-old and are considering whether or not to make a formal bid. According to WhoScored, King has played 23 minutes in the Championship for Bournemouth so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the 28-year-old made 24 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Cherries, scoring six goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
