West Ham United are interested in signing Billy Gilmour from Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to The Mirror. It has been reported that West Ham manager David Moyes wants to bring the former Rangers prospect to the London Stadium on loan until the end of the season.
Gilmour has been on the books of Chelsea since 2017 when he joined from Rangers. The 19-year-old midfielder has done well when he has played, but he also had a long-term injury problem. Frank Lampard is no longer the Chelsea manager, with the former England international attacking midfielder having been replaced by former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel.
According to WhoScored, Gilmour made two starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea last season, and has played 34 minutes in the league and has played 95 minutes in the Champions League so far this campaign. A loan move to West Ham could be beneficial to the Scottish youngster.
