West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United duo Nemanja Matic and Phil Jones, according to Eurosport. It has been reported that the Hammers are checking out the two United players as potential targets in the summer transfer window. The London club, though, will have to pay the the 32-year-old Serbian midfielder and the 29-year-old English central defender over £120,000 per week as salary each.
Jones has not played since January 2020 due to injury. The 29-year-old has never really been one of the best central defenders in the Premier League, and West Ham would be wise not to sign him, especially he has not played for so long.
Matic is a hugely experienced player who has won multiple trophies and knows the Champions League inside out. The Serbian would make the Hammers better in the middle of the park, but given his age, manager David Moyes will have to manage him properly if he signs him this summer.
