West Ham’s Gold confident of Reid stay

West Ham chairman David Gold is confident that Winston Reid will sign a new contract at Upton Park, according to the Mail Online.

The centre-back’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and has been linked with a switch to both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26 year old has been one of the stand out performers for the Hammers so far this season, making twenty-seven appearances in all competitions so far while he scored in a 3-1 win over Liverpool back in September.

His next game for the club will be his one hundred and thirtieth since signing from Danish side Midtjylland in the summer of 2010, while internationally he has been capped eighteen times for New Zealand, scoring once.

Sam Allardyce’s side currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League, and are priced at 5/1 to beat leaders Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
