Competition: Premier League
Market: Allardyce next to leave his post
Odds: 3/1 @ 888 Sport
With West Ham striker Andy Carroll once again set to miss the start of the season through injury, the Hammers are under intense pressure to get results without him. Manager Sam Allardyce blamed Carroll’s injury in 2013/14 as the reason for his sides poor start to the campaign.
Now he will be made to endure the same thing, and therefore Allardyce could find his job on the line if the London outfit start poorly once more. Co-chairmen David Gold & David Sullivan gave a seasonal objective to Allardyce to instil a more attacking and attractive style of play onto the players, due to complaints last season about too much direct football.
Allardyce signed a host of players this summer to achieve such goals, but if the club struggle due to Carroll’s injury it will be the manager whose job is at threat. 888 Sport are giving odds of 3/1 for Allardyce to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League, slashing his odds greatly from before the injury news was released.
