Middlesbrough defender David Wheater has admitted that he has not plans to leave the club in the near future.
The England Under 21 international still has one year left on his current deal and is ready to sign a new deal.
“I have always been clear that I wouldn’t ask for a transfer, it’s up to the manager or the chairman to decide if they want to keep me,” he told the Northern Echo.
“I will not be asking for a move. I am here to stay.”
He added: “I have another season left on my contract and expect to be here for at least another season.”
Wheater has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.
