Where will Brazilian starlet end up this summer?

Brazilian club Santos have accepted five bids for Brazilian superstar in the making Neymar.

The Brazilian club claim they do not want to sell the youngster but the five clubs have met the players £40.3million contract release clause.

Clause

Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro told ESPN Brasil: “ We don’t want to sell the player, but of course there is a release clause in his contract that can be paid and five European clubs have offered to match the clause,”

“ I cannot name them because there is an agreement between Santos and the clubs, but they are the most important European clubs.

“They have asked to speak to the player and obviously we’ve allowed them to.
“The clubs have behaved ethically. They sought out Santos first and were willing to pay the clause. With this ethical approach, they can talk to anyone – with Neymar’s father, with [agent] Wagner Ribeiro, and with the representatives of Neymar.”

Ribeiro might not have named the clubs interested in signing the youngster but Neymar’s suitors are believed to be Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

Unlikely

Most of those names wouldn’t come as a surprise to football fans. However the name of Russian club Anzhi is likely to have surprised everybody. They are a very wealthy club but it’s unlikely that the youngster will opt for a move to the ambitious Russian club.

This move is more likely to be a publicity stunt to help promote the clubs name around the world. I’m sure the clubs hierarchy know they couldn’t really sign the 19 year-old with most of Europe’s top club’s chasing his signature.

Spain

Spain’s big two are going head to head to sign the Brazilian international. Both clubs have different attractions. If he signed for Barcelona he could part of one of the greatest club sides to have ever graced a football field.

Real Madrid on the other hand would probably offer higher wages and the chance to help Los Blancos overthrow their bitter-rivals Barcelona. A move to Real would also give Neymar the chance to work with Real boss Jose Mourinho, who he is believed to admire greatly.

England

The other two clubs interested in the Brazilian are Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City. Chelsea have been linked with the youngster for awhile and apparently failed in a bid to sign him last summer.

However it looks as though they are now renewing their interest in the 19 year-old this summer. It would be a big coup for new Chelsea boss Andres Villa-Boas to sign Neymar ahead of the other European giants. Neymar has stated in the past that he would like to move to Stamford Bridge.

As everybody knows Manchester City have lots of ambition and money. City are determined to make a real challenge for the Premier League title next season.

They would be able to match any of the other clubs in the wages department but are believed to be behind some of the other clubs in the queue to sign the youngster

Conditions

Neymar would be a great signing for any of the five clubs bidding to secure his signature. However there are not many examples of Brazilians becoming successes in the English top flight.

Although as a fan of the Premier League I would like to see the Brazilian in our league I don’t think the style of English football would suit his style. La Liga is probably currently better suited to the 19 year-olds game.

Potential

In his short career so far Neymar has already shown enough potential to suggest that he could be the next Brazilian superstar to come off the Samba conveyor belt. It seems that only the youngster himself can stop him from fulfilling his full potential.

Who will sign Brazilian star Neymar this summer?
