Who could be on the move this January?

It’s that time of the year again where football fans across the breath of Europe get both excited and nervous.

The winter transfer window opens in just a few days and there could be some major players moving clubs.

Here is a rundown of players who could possibly be moving in January:

Edin Dzeko (Werder Bremen to Manchester City)

If morning reports are to be believed megarich City are negotiating a deal to sign the prolific Bosnian.

A deal close to £25million has been rumoured but the deal could rise up to £30million if City qualifies for the Champions League.

Dzeko could be a key signing for City with the Citizens in the thick of the Premier League title race. Bitter-rivals Manchester United have also shown an interest in the 24 year-old but don’t have the same financial clout as City.

Steven Pienaar (Everton to Tottenham)

Tottenham are being linked with a £2million move for the Everton midfielder. The South African has just over six months left to run on his contract and he has turned down offers of a new deal. He could leave the Toffee’s as a free agent in the summer.

Pienaar has refused to speculate on his future but it’s believed that he wants to move to a club offering Champions League football. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is a long-term admirer of the 28 year-old and is believed to be ready to make a move when the window opens.

Pienaar cost Everton £2million when he joined from Dortmund in 2008 but Everton boss David Moyes has already stated that he is prepared to keep hold of the star until the summer and lose him on a free, rather than selling him for a small fee in January.

Niko Kranjcar (Tottenham to Everton)

Everton are being linked with a move for the Croatian midfielder if they sell Pienaar to Spurs. He has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane and is now looking to move on. David Moyes has admitted he has no funds to spend so a loan deal or an exchange deal involving Pienaar is more likely.

Kranjcar has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at Tottenham since a cut-price move from Portsmouth in 2009. The Croatian international is too talented to be simply warming the Tottenham bench.

Robbie Keane (Tottenham to?)

The Irish international striker looks set to leave White Hart Lane on-loan in January. He has recently been linked with Newcastle, Aston Villa and former-club Wolves. Keane just like Kranjcar is currently struggling to get into the Tottenham first team.

Stephen Ireland (Aston Villa to?)

Stephen Ireland has endured a nightmare time at Villa since signing in the deal that took James Milner to Manchester City last summer. He has struggled with form and injuries at Villa Park and he has been frozen out at Villa under French boss Gerard Houllier.

Before joining Aston Villa he was rated as one of the best up and coming midfielders in the English top flight. He is now struggling to get into the Villa first team and is desperately in need of a fresh start.

Ireland has been linked with Merseyside duo Everton and Liverpool. He has also been linked with a loan move to SPL side Celtic. If he was to move to Everton or Celtic it would be on loan due to both clubs currently lacking funds to spend.

David Bentley (Tottenham to?)

Bentley is yet another Spurs benchwarmer. It shows the quality of Tottenham’s squad that the likes of Bentley can’t get into the first team. The former-Blackburn winger has been linked with half of the clubs in the Premier League.

According to reports he is set to leave on-loan until the end of the season. Aston Villa, Fulham and Everton are believed to be interested in signing the midfielder.

Ronaldinho (AC Milan to?)

The Brazilian superstar has been linked with a return home to Gremio but AC Milan has slapped a £7million price tag on the head of their aging star. He has fallen out of favour at the Serie A leaders and is set to leave. The 30 year-old has been attracting the interest of Premier League side Liverpool but he is more likely to stay on the continent.

Roque Santa Cruz (Manchester City to?)

The Paraguayan is a victim of Manchester City being able to spend big. He arrived at the club for a fee of £18million from Blackburn in 2009 but he has struggled with injuries and form since arriving at Eastlands.

Santa Cruz has recently turned down a loan move to Italian side Lazio because he wants to move on a permanent deal. Former club Blackburn and Fulham are currently favourites to land the 29 year-old.

Rumours

Of course we can’t be sure what is going on behind the scenes of most of the big clubs but you can guarantee that managers all over Europe are currently looking at their options and hoping to strengthen their squads this January. I can sense an exciting January transfer window ahead of us!

Who would you like your club to sign in January?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! AS IF THEY DON’T HAVE ENOUGH BIG NAME PLAYERS OUT THERE ALREADY????????????????? Balotelli is a dillusional, egocentric, and inconsistent moron, Silva hasn’t exactly been at his best,, the players still don’t have the required amount of chemistry, blah blah blah blah blah. . . . I forget just how many things go against City, and yet now Dzeko joins their ranks. . . . and, just like so many other players of his caliber, will be lucky to come on as a SUB. I can’t imagine guys like him as a sub, even at City. . . . the Shitizens need to learn quickly that money isn’t the answer. but it’s so obvious their youth system isn’t like that of the teams who do get trophies. . .

The best thing is for man city to buy every single available big name out there, Milner, Santa Cruz, Adebayor will then be avaialble on the cheap.

That will balance out the market where its the middle eastern owners who are taking the loss, small change to them anyway.

especially when so many of them are unhappy at City and want to leave, and then City has no choice with so little money remaining! they’re in a lose-lose situation.

City continues to buy, but they’re gonna sell? Man City selling is an oxymoron if there ever was one. . .
