While Arsenal might have seen their pre-season trip to the USA get scrapped due to a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp, the Gunners have been handed a real boost with the imminent arrival of an England international.

Despite failing to feature at this summer’s European Championships, Ben White is regarded to be one of the Premier League’s top young prospects and it appears Mikel Arteta’s side have won the race for his signature.

Only continuing to impress many on the south coast last season, news was broken over the weekend that Arsenal have reached a £50million deal in principle with the Seagulls and an official announcement could be made in a matter of days.

With Arsenal fans needing a real boost after their nightmare campaign last season, the Gunners also broke the news on Tuesday that they had completed a deal with Anderlecht for Belgium starlet, Albert Sambi Lokonga.

With the transfer window slamming shut in under a month now, we have taken a look at some other stars who have been linked with a potential move to north London this summer.

Tammy Abraham – Chelsea

With it reported last week that Chelsea have made their first offer to Borussia Dortmund in the race to clinch Erling Haaland’s signature, there has been a string of speculation from across the Premier League as to what the future holds for Tammy Abraham.

Rumoured to have been offered as a makeweight for the Norwegian superstar, many around Stamford Bridge feel that Abraham will be moved on if and when the west London outfit receives a substantial offer.

Failing to find any way to forge himself into Thomas Tuchel’s plans and often not even part of Chelsea’s match-day squad, The Telegraph reported last week that the Gunners are the latest side to show an interest in bringing the 23-year-old across the capital.

Managing to muster just a pair of appearances for the club after the middle of February and believed to be valued at £40million by the European champions, Arsenal will face some competition if they’re to lure Abraham to the Emirates. The Telegraph have suggested that both West Ham and Aston Villa are also keen on striking a potential deal with Tuchel’s side.

Max Aarons – Norwich

With the continued links surrounding Hector Bellerin’s potential move to Inter Milan and a host expecting the Spanish defender to be on his way out of the exit this summer, it is no secret that the Arsenal hierarchy are on the lookout for a new right-back.

Playing a vital role in Norwich’s charge to book an immediate Premier League return last season, Max Aarons is once again in demand this summer and The Sunday Mirror reported over the weekend that Arteta’s men have their sights set on turning their attention to the England U21 star.

Previously tipped for a potential move to north London after Norwich’s relegation, Aarons has claimed two Championship titles and some around Carrow Road believe that a fee in the region of £25million would be enough to tempt the Canaries into parting ways with their prized asset before the transfer window slams shut.

However, much like Abraham, if Arsenal are to snap up Aarons’ signature this summer, it appears they will face tough competition. Reports from Europe have suggested that German champion Bayern Munich are said to be interested in acquiring the 21-year-old.

Houssem Aouar – Lyon

With it looking increasingly likely that Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard won’t be making his move to north London a permanent one this summer, reports over the past week have suggested that Arsenal have turned their attention back to another long-term target in a bid to bolster their midfield options.

While the Gunners will know that they have a real battle on their hands, numerous French outlets have speculated that Arsenal are sat in pole position to snap up what could be a very eye-catching deal for Lyon ace Houssem Aouar.

With The Daily Mail reporting that the French outfit have slashed their price tag for the unsettled midfielder by half to just £21million, Arteta’s side had several bids rejected by Lyon last summer with the club insistent they wanted to keep him ahead of their Champions League run.

However, dealing with some public financial issues due to the pandemic and also watching Memphis Depay head off to Barcelona on a free transfer, le10sport reported the Gunners submitted a fresh bid for Aouar last week and a deal could be completed soon.
