Who will arrive at Everton in the transfer window?

Everton boss David Moyes is looking to sign three players on-loan in the January transfer window.

The Scot knows he will have limited funds available to strengthen his squad in the window. Loan moves will have to do for the Everton boss.

Strikers

Moyes main priority this transfer window is to bring in a striker to strengthen his misfiring attack.

Everton’s strikers have been poor this season and any decent additions would be welcome. Everton are now being linked with a host of Premier League strikers.

Three strikers who have been linked with Everton are Manchester City pair Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz and Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner. I believe any of those three would add something to the Everton attack. They could offer a short-term fix to Everton’s striking problems.

Moyes told the Liverpool Echo: “I think if any of them became available towards us we’d look, but in this window there will not be enough to pick and choose. You might have to take what you can if you need something. I would like to add two or three but they will be loan players. We have a few people in mind so we will see how it goes”

Scoring

Everton at times have played well but lacked the killer touch in front of goal. If Everton would have had a prolific striker this season then they would be far higher in the Premier League table.

It’s not just the strikers who are failing in front of goal. The whole team have missed opportunities and its lead to the Blues being just above the relegation zone but the strikers have been the main culprits.

Options

Roque Santa Cruz

The Paraguayan striker arrived at Manchester City from Blackburn for a fee of £18million. The 29 year-old was a big success at Rovers and earned a big money move to City. Since signing for City though the striker has struggled with injury and lack of form. A move elsewhere could re-ignite his goalscoring form and his career.

Nicklas Bendtner

The young Danish striker is thought of as one for the future. He missed the first few months of the season and summer arrival Marouane Chamakh has pushed him down the pecking order at the Emirates.

The 22 year-old certainly doesn’t lack confidence but there have been question marks over whether he has what it takes to succeed with the Gunners. He may see a loan move as a backward step but he won’t be getting regular first team action at Arsenal with the likes of Van Persie and Chamakh at the club.

Emmanuel Adebayor

The ex-Arsenal star is no doubt a top talent and Everton would be lucky to sign him on-loan. Serie A side Juventus have also been linked with the 26 year-old. He would be the best player Everton could sign on-loan.

He may be an unsettling influence at times but he is definitely a goalscorer. He is just the sort of player that Everton currently need. I think a loan move to Everton would be unlikely but who knows it could just happen.

Donovan

Everton have also been linked with other players such as USA international Landon Donovan. He is currently on holiday but has told David Moyes he will tell him in the next week if he wants to join the Blues in January. It seems that this deal will probably happen and he’ll join up with the Blues in January.

Rise

Everton will expect a rise up the table in the next couple of months and any signings in the transfer window should help improve the morale and strength of the Everton squad. Even with no transfer funds this transfer window should prove an interesting one for Everton fans.
