The Spanish El-Clasico is the biggest club game in football and could have a big bearing on the future of the European game.

Real Madrid are favourites for tonight’s big clash at the Bernabeu and could go six points clear at the top of the table with a game in-hand.

Turning

As my regular readers know I’m a big fan of Barcelona and the style of football they play.

However it now seems that the tide is changing towards Real Madrid. This game will give Los Blancos the chance to send out a message to the rest of Europe that they are becoming the dominant force in Spanish football.

Squad

Real Madrid definitely have a stronger squad all round. The last few summers Jose Mourinho has strengthened his squad enough to have almost two teams of quality players. They definitely have an advantage over their Catalan rivals in squad strength.

Barcelona have a good group of 18 or so players but definitely haven’t got the strength in-depth of their capital rivals, which could prove their downfall.

Best

Barcelona and Real Madrid are the two best club teams in the world and I’m sure they will prove that in the Champions League this season. The duo has far more quality than their English, Italian and German rivals.

Tonight’s game promises to be a fascinating encounter between two top teams, who will want to win for different reasons. Real will want to win to prove their dominance and Barcelona need to win to stay in-touch with Los Blancos.

Form

Real Madrid’s form this season has been fantastic and it has left Barca trailing in their wake. Barcelona however have struggled away from home this season and it could cost them their La Liga crown. However the Catalan’s form has started to pick up again in recent weeks.

Weaknesses

Although Real Madrid are in good form their defence isn’t the strongest in Europe or even in La Liga. Their strength is definitely going forward and scoring goals. Barcelona are starting to look like they are back to their best going forward.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Isaac Cuenca and Cesc Fabregas have provided their attack with more incision recently. Leo Messi and Andres Iniesta can’t do it all on their own. David Villa and Pedro have also had stop-start seasons.

There are rumours that David Villa is unhappy at the Nou Camp and could leave in the near future. Villa is believed to be unhappy because he is in the shadow of Messi at Barcelona. This seems to have affected his performance this season.

Barcelona aren’t exactly the best at the back either. Pep Guardiola has been playing three at the back at times and Real could get at them. I’m sure Barca will be playing four at the back at the Bernabeu.

Favourites

For the first time in a long time Real Madrid go into a Clasico game as favourites. Real Madrid attempted to beat Barcelona by being defensive and physical last season. They now have the talent to play their own game, instead of worrying about Barcelona’s game.

I believe that Real boss Jose Mourinho will send his team out to play their own game against the Catalans. Hopefully it will be two truly superb sides going head to head to prove who is the dominance force of Spanish football.

Treat

Tonight’s game will be a treat for every football fan around the world, no matter who you support. This is a game not too be missed, so sit back and enjoy what promises to be a spectacle display of football.

Who will win tonight’s El Clasico?
