Why should Roberto Mancini leave Manchester City?

I have read reports that Italian Serie A side Juventus are interested in Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

The Old Lady have endured a nightmare campaign and currently sit seventh with just one game to go this season.

Comparison

You can‘t really compare the two clubs seasons. City have clinched their first silverware in over 30 years and a Champions League place. Whereas Juventus have struggle to even break into the Serie A European places this season.

So if Juve did offer him the job he would have to weigh up a return to his homeland with the chance to challenge for honours with City next season. I really do think it’s a no-brainer for the Italian.

Challengers

Next season Manchester City are expected to challenge for the Premier League. Mancini will be given a major transfer kitty in the summer to strengthen his squad to achieve that objective. I just can’t see how Juve would prove an attractive proposition.

Denial

Mancini has denied that Juventus have approached him about their managerial position. He told Studio Sport XXL: “ In reality, I have not said no to Juve simply because I have never been approached by them,”

“I want to remain at City to build a group. It would be stupid to have to start over somewhere else”.

Opportunity

Roberto Mancini has an opportunity to build something big at Manchester City. He will be given the resources necessary to make the club successful. It’s very doubtful that he would get the same resources at any club in the world.

He must realise how lucky he is to be in such a job. He has the chance to take the club as high as they can go. The sky’s the limit for City and Mancini will be keen to be part of the future success.

Temporary

I have to admit when Roberto Mancini was appointed I didn’t think he would last long at Eastlands. He always struck me as a temporary appointment when he replaced Mark Hughes as City boss.

However he has managed to do a pretty good job. People can argue that he has been given a lot of money to spend but he has achieved the objective of winning silverware and clinching a Champions League spot for next season.

Expectations

Although the expectations at Manchester City are high Mancini is accustomed to those expectations having already managed at Serie A giants Inter. He wouldn’t be considered a top-class boss if he couldn’t handle the pressure of top level football.

Mancini seems to be able to keep a level head. He is a cool, calm and collected individual, most of the time anyway.

Unlikely

Juventus seem to be a club in a right mess at the moment. The club has a new hierarchy though and maybe they can help bring around change in the club. However I don’t think that Roberto Mancini will be part of that change.

Should Roberto Mancini consider the Juventus job?

Agreed. They play the way Italy and the old USA of before the ’94 WC (plus in some occasional big games nowadays) play(ed).

He is no good.. City needs someone who can make a plan and handle that big budget the club offers on this basis. Mancini looks in the market same way a woman goes out for shopping.

Plus, I’m sick of watching the team trying to snatch the win out of every derby. It’s a big team now and I want to see that on the field.

No, David, what I meant by Italian style of play is the dull defense I saw when they were playing in big games, such as the Manchester Derby back in November. I already know United’s still the better club in Manchester.

Any single top flight manager in European football would be able to bring more silverwares to City. Just admit it, if you can purchase most of the top players available, it’s only a matter of time before you become #1

Will it get his Italian style of play out of the EPL’s hair?
