Wigan Athletic are keen to take Jack Collison on loan from West Ham United for the remainder of this season, Sky Sports understands.
Latics manager Uwe Rosler is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements having lost both Ben Watson and Chris McCann to serious injuries over the past few weeks.
Collison has struggled to make an impression in the Hammers first team this season, playing just six times in the Premier League.
He has almost made three appearances in the League Cup but has not featured in the FA Cup, so could be used by Rosler in the upcoming semi-final against Arsenal.
The 25 year old moved to Bournemouth on a temporary basis earlier in the campaign, but made just four appearances before returning to the Boleyn Ground.
Wigan secured a sixth straight league win at the weekend after coming from behind to beat Ipswich Town and, having moved into the play-off places, can now be backed at 5/2 to win promotion back to the Premier League.
