Wigan Athletic are on the verge of signing Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Billy McKay, according to Sky Sports.
The 26 year old is holding talks with the Championship side after they agreed a £150,000 fee with the Scottish Premiership outfit.
McKay began his career with Leicester City, but moved to Northampton Town having never made a first team appearance for the Foxes, after also having a loan spell with non-league Hinckley United.
A move north of the border came in the summer of 2011, with the player going on to make over one hundred and forty appearances in all competitions for Inverness, scoring sixty-two goals.
Internationally, he won the first of nine caps for Northern Ireland in a friendly against Malta almost two years ago.
Wigan are currently second from bottom in the Championship, eight points from safety, and can now be backed at a price of 1/1 to be relegated.
