Wigan have signed former Celtic defender Thomas Rogne on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old Norway international rejected a new deal after three years at the Scottish champions in favour of a move to the FA Cup holders.
Rogne joins fellow new recruits Chris McCann and Stephen Crainey at the DW Stadium as new Wigan manager Owen Coyle continues to strengthen his squad as he attempts to guide the club back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
He told the club’s official website: “English football is something very special and being Norwegian we follow the game over here very closely, so to be part of it makes me very happy.”
Rogne has two senior caps for Norway and competed at the recent Under-21 European Championship.
He added: “It’s an exciting new chapter for me.”
