Wigan are ready to answer Djibril Cisse’s hopes of a move back to England by making a £5 million bid, according to the Daily Mirror.
Cisse, 26, played for Liverpool for two years before a horrific injury ruled him out of first-team action, where he was loaned out to French club Marseille, where he eventually signed for the club in the summer of 2007.
Cisse now wants to return to England and play again in the Premiership, and a move looks likely after his family have returned to the north-west of England.
A number of Premiership clubs such as Bolton and Manchester City were said to be interested, but with their interest cooling, Wigan seem to be in pole-position for the striker.
