Wigan to turn down improved bid for McManaman

Wigan Athletic are ready to turn down West Bromwich Albion’s improved offer of over £4m for winger Callum McManaman, according to the Sky Sports.

The Baggies had a bid of £3.5m for the winger rejected by the Midlands club earlier this week, with manager Tony Pulis stating that he was one of a number of players being pursued by the Midlands outfit.

The 23 year old has made twenty-two appearances so far this season, scoring five goals though just one of those have come since August.

He broke into the Latics first team in the 2011/12 season, going on to play a key part in their triumphant FA Cup campaign the following season.

He has spent his entire career so far with Wigan, bar a loan spell with Blackpool in 2011, where he played fourteen times, scoring twice while internationally he has been capped four times by England’s U20 side.
