According to a recent report from AS, Liverpool midfielder Georigino Wijnaldum has given Barcelona the green light to sign him.
However, the belief is that Barca’s poor financial situation means a move during the January transfer window is unlikely – therefore increasing the likelihood that they will get something done during the summer.
This is all still speculation but when you think about how many times this has been touted as a possibility in recent months, it does feel like there is just too much momentum behind the idea of it for it to wind up not happening at all.
The Dutchman is often regarded as one of the strongest midfield options that Liverpool have, and when you consider the injury crisis that Liverpool have been forced to endure so far this season, it doesn’t make much sense from a logistical standpoint for Jurgen Klopp to get rid of him at such a crucial time.
