Wijnaldum rejects Everton

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has rejected a move to Everton.

Instead of heading to the blue half of Merseyside, the report indicates that the Dutchman is favouring a move to Roma – where he’ll link up with Jose Mourinho.

There was a lot of hope behind Wijnaldum making the jump over to the French capital but up to this point, it hasn’t quite gone the way he would’ve desired.

The 31-year-old is clearly eager to get some more playing time under his belt and really get after it for the next few years, but in all honesty, it probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that he doesn’t want to head to Goodison Park.

The reason for that is simple: he spent many years making a name for himself at Anfield with their bitter rivals Liverpool, and in that part of the world, loyalty means something.
