While Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony was expected to be leaving the side this summer to potentially join Liverpool, the deal looks off as the Reds have agreed a fee with Queens Park Rangers to sign Loic Remy.

Bony, who scored 16 Premier League goals last season, made it clear to City that he wanted a move to a club higher up in the league this summer, and Liverpool & Tottenham were frontrunners for his signature as a result.

However, Liverpool’s snub and Tottenham having Roberto Soldado, Emmanuel Adebayor and Harry Kane in their attack has seen Ladbrokes giving odds of 4/6 for Bony to remain at the Liberty stadium this season.

Swansea brought in talented goalscorer Bafetimbi Gomis on a free transfer to the surprise of many, and it looked as if the French international would be Bony’s replacement. But it now appears Gomis could be his strike-partner for the coming campaign.
