Wilfried Zaha needs to leave Manchester United in January

Youngster Wilfried Zaha has potential, but his playing time this season has been restricted

Young winger Wilfried Zaha has potential, but his playing time this season has been restricted at Manchester United

Last season young winger Wilfried Zaha was one of the shining lights in the Championship, as he helped Crystal Palace to the promised land of the Premier League through the play-offs.

Zaha agreed a potential £15million move to United last January, but remained at Palace for the remainder of last season.

Zaha did eventually move to Old Trafford this summer, but United fans have seen more of the Invisible Man than the former-Palace star this season, as the youngster has made just two substitute appearances amounting to just 30 minutes between them.

Manchester United boss David Moyes has been reluctant to play the young winger, despite his team struggling this season.

Frustrated

According to reports coming out of United, the youngster is starting to become frustrated at his lack of first team action for Manchester United. Any player that enjoyed such a good campaign last season would be frustrated about kicking his heels on the sidelines.

Promising

Wilfried Zaha is regarded as one of the most promising young players in the British game. He has already won two caps for England at international level and looks to have a bright future in the game.

However, not playing for Manchester United is not going to help him fulfil his potential. He may be raw, but he does possess skill and vision, which could come in really useful for a United team not exactly firing on all cylinders at the moment.

Loan

A number of Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in signing Zaha on-loan in the winter transfer window. He is the sort of player that could really excel at a Premier League club, given the opportunity to actually play games.

He is the sort of player that excites fans and if he does move on during January then whoever signs him will be signing a player that can score and create goals.

According to a number of British tabloids, Cardiff City are favourites to sign Zaha on-loan in the next month. Former club Crystal Palace have also been linked with a loan move for the 21-year-old. Manchester United seem to be waiting on news of winger Nani’s hamstring injury before allowing Zaha to leave.

That is strange really because even when Nani has not been available Zaha was not being used, so that seems rather unnecessary.

Mistake

Wilfried Zaha made a brave move by moving from Crystal Palace to Manchester United at such a young age. The youngster was signed by former-United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, not current boss David Moyes, so maybe the former-Everton boss does no rate the winger.

Zaha will have known that it would be difficult to break into the Manchester United first team, but I doubt he ever thought he would get so little time on the pitch for the Red Devils. A move to Manchester United now seems a mistake.

If he stayed at Palace he would have still been playing regular first team football and in the top-flight, gaining the experience necessary to develop into a top player. Instead he is wasting his undoubted talent at Manchester United.

Zaha is a typical example of a talented young player who has almost been frozen out at a big club. It looks like that will be solved in the next month though

Vital

It is vital for Zaha’s career that he moves on in the January transfer window for both the player and his club. If Zaha’s not playing, he is not gaining the experience needed for him to fulfil his potential at both club and international level and England could lose another talented young player.

Will Wilfried Zaha move leave United on-loan in January?
