Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba is set to face his former employers Chelsea when the two sides square off in the Champions League, with William Hill backing the Ivorian at 9/4 to score anytime.
Drogba himself has stated his belief for his side to pull off a shock victory against the club he spent eight very successful years at from 2004 until 2012. His last kick of the ball for Chelsea was the winning penalty that saw them win their first ever Champions League against Bayern Munich in the final.
But this time around it’s a whole different pressure for the 35-year old. He’s scored 21 goals in 45 games (13 for Galatasaray, 8 for Shanhai Greenland) since leaving Stamford Bridge, and it’s such form that is leading many to believe he could well come back to haunt Jose Mourinho’s side when the pair square off.
With Galatasaray having home advantage in the first leg, the Turkish club will certainly fancy their chances of getting a result from the match. Drogba scoring past the Blues would be the icing on the cake for the evening.
