Competition: Premier League
Market: Adam Lallana to make England’s World Cup squad
Odds: 6/17 @ 888 Sport
Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana played just over half an hour of England’s 1-0 win against Denmark in the recent international friendly and turned out to be the game-changer – setting up striker Daniel Sturridge to score the only goal of the game.
Lallana, 25, has enjoyed a fantastic league campaign with the Saints in his 28 league appearances this season – scoring seven goals and making five assists.
England manager Roy Hodgson has seen the midfielder a number of times this season. Most notably, the infamous solo goal he scored in November against Hull City.
With the same confident performance on display in an England shirt, Lallana doesn’t look phased by the situation and is in the best form of his career at present. Hodgson would be a brave man to keep the 25-year old out of England’s World Cup squad this season.
The bookmakers all have him as a shoo-in to make it, with 888 Sport giving odds of 6/17. As things stand, he’ll be pushing for a starting place in the national team if he can carry on his fine run of form.
