Leicester City welcome Liverpool to the King Power Stadium in Monday’s Premier League clash, and the Foxes could be fighting to claw their way out of the relegation zone if fellow strugglers Hull City win at home to travel-sick Burnley two days earlier.
It would be the first time since April 2015 that City have fallen into the relegation zone in the league, but are they in grave danger of dropping into the bottom three this weekend?
Hull City expected to beat Burnley
Hull City are 18th in the Premier League table with 20 points from 25 games, one point and one place below defending champions Leicester City. The Tigers face Burnley at home in their next outing on Saturday and boast superior form in their own backyard than the Clarets have fared on the road which could yield a win for Hull. They would go two points ahead of Leicester City in the league table if they see past Burnley, sending Claudio Ranieri’s side into the relegation zone – a position Leicester haven’t been in for 22 months.
Hull are enjoying a recent resurgence and have been strong on home soil, boasting four consecutive wins at the KCOM Stadium and suffering just one defeat since October. Travel-sick Burnley have gone three without a win in all competitions, and have lost 11 of their 13 away games this season. The Clarets’ failure to win on their travels should see Hull coming out on top which would be bad news for Leicester. The Foxes could be in the bottom-three ahead of a meeting with Liverpool on Monday which could solidify their spot in the relegation zone.
Leicester City aren’t given a chance against Liverpool
Leicester City have home advantage ahead of the visit of Liverpool next week, but the Midlands outfit have lost three of their last four at the King Power Stadium and will have a discontented crowd to contend with given their disappointing form. City have also suffered five defeats in their last six overall which is likely to see them coming unstuck again to a Liverpool side boasting two wins and two draws from their last five away games.
Leicester’s title defence couldn’t be going any worse given they’ve failed to score a league goal in 2017, and in the top-flight, Leicester have won just two games since October. Liverpool are coming off the back of a win overall and thrashed Leicester in the reverse fixture back in September (Liverpool 4-1 Leicester City). Leicester City are 7/4 to suffer relegation from the Premier League this season.
Can they avoid falling into the bottom-three on Saturday?
