The Portuguese international midfielder William Carvalho looks set to leave Sporting CP during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Premier League. And according to the latest reports coming from the Portuguese newspaper Record, Carvalho will be allowed to leave Sporting CP after the Champions League playoffs.
The same source claims Arsenal have once again emerged as hot favourites to land the highly sought-after midfielder with Arsene Wenger reportedly prepared to fork out €30 million to land his long-standing target.
Carvalho was on the verge of joining Gunners back in 2015, but is now back on the radar for the Premier League giants.
Newcastle United are also said to be keen on the Sporting CP midfielder, who is said to have his heart set on the Emirates move, however.
Carvalho is under contract with Sporting CP until 2020 and is believed to be under a €45 million release clause Gunners are hoping to work their way around.
