Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Willian has confirmed that he would be delighted to join a club like Chelsea.
The Blues are very interested in signing the highly rated Brazilian as Andre Villas-Boas believes he would be a great addition to team’s creative department.
Shakhtar Donetsk chiefs recently revealed that the Blues had enquired about the player’s availability and everything suggests that Chelsea could complete the deal before the January transfer window closes.
The player himself has now admitted that a move to Chelsea would be a dream come true.
“They have a culture of winning trophies and that excites me,” Willian told The Sun.
“Chelsea are known as one of the biggest and most successful clubs around. To play for them is a challenge I would accept and enjoy.
“If a deal doesn’t go through, I’ll understand. But I hope it happens.”
The 23-year-old has a £29 million release clause inserted in his contract, but it is believed that he would be available for £20 million.
Willian believes that a move to the Premier League would help him keep his place in the national team.
“To play in a league that is seen throughout the world would be good for my hopes of playing regularly for Brazil, especially with the World Cup at home in two years’ time.”
Willian Borges De Silva made his debut for the national team in November 2011 and has since featured one more time for the Selecao.
