Willian Jose will remain with Real Sociedad for the rest of this season at least, according to Imanol Alguacil.
The claim of the Sociedad head coach comes in the light of the reported interest from Barcelona, who are looking to sign a forward to replace the injured Ousmane Dembele outside any transfer window. Under the special rules in Spanish football which allow signings to be made at any date, such signings are only allowed if the prospective newcomer already plays in Spain and is coming to replace a player out for at least five months.
Barcelona need a quick fix for their attacking problems, but as quoted by Sky Sports, Algaucil is adamant that Willian Jose won’t be allowed to leave unless his €70 million buyout clause is met. Speaking ahead of Sociedad’s Copa del Rey semi-final against Mirandes, the boss made it clear that the club want to keep the forward in their ranks and he is confident they will do so, at least until the summer.
