Wilson set for United stay

Manchester United striker James Wilson will not be allowed to go out on loan, according to the Express.

The nineteen year old was set to be shipped out on a temporary basis, with no less than twenty clubs said to be interested in securing his services.

Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers were one of the sides monitoring the situation, though they have been told that Wilson is now required to stay at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial, who signed for Louis van Gaal’s side in the recently closed transfer window, netted on his debut – last weekend’s 3-1 win over rivals Liverpool.

However with captain Wayne Rooney struggling with injury and United challenging on four fronts Wilson, who is yet to be involved in a match-day squad this season could well get his chance.

Next up for the Red Devils is a trip to Southampton, and the away win is priced at 11/8.
