Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom believes a loan move away from Anfield would be beneficial for his career.
The talented full-back was expected to complete a loan switch to Wigan, but Brendan Rodgers eventually pulled the plug on the deal after Glen Johnson picked up an injury.
This has seen Wisdom handed a league start by boss Brendan Rodgers, but the player is well aware that a move away from the club would help him get much needed first team experience.
“We’ve signed a few more defenders and it’s obviously going to be harder to get a spot in the team. But I’ve been given some time to play – it’s appreciated and it has been good,” Wisdom told club’s official website.
“Obviously I need experience – I need more games because I’m still learning. Maybe if I am to go on loan and get that experience I need, I can try to be a key player in the team.”
Andre Wisdom came through the youth ranks at Anfield, and it was last season that he broke into the first team set-up.
The 20-year-old went on to make no less than 12 starts in the Premier League, but didn’t quite managed to show all he’s got.
After coming on for Glen Johnson in the derby game against Manchester United, Wisdom started the league clash against Swansea, but was left on the bench in next two games.
