Wise choice for Newcastle?

The Sun newspaper claims this morning that Tottenham assistant manager Gus Poyet is about to be named as the new manager at Newcastle.

The appointment of Poyet, previously assistant manager to Dennis Wise at Swindon and Leeds, would certainly cement Wise’s position at the club and may prove to be an unpopular decision with the fans.

If this story proves to be true then it will clearly show that Wise has plenty of influence at the club and may back up Kevin Keegan’s version of events a little more.
