Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Serie A hotshots Napoli have expressed their interest into signing Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who is currently on loan at AS Roma.
Partenopei are believed to be in the market for a replacement for Pepe Reina whose performances this season have been deemed below par. The experienced shot stopper has had some physical issues which have seriously affected his performances during the campaign and Napoli believe that Szczesny could be the long-term answer to their goalkeeping problem.
Poland international Wojciech Szczesny is due to return to Arsenal at the end of the season as AS Roma are not expected to make an attempt to make his stay in Rome permanent.
Giallorossi have invested €8 million to sign Brazil shot stopper Alisson last summer who is widely expected to take Szczesny’s place in goal next season.
However, the Gunners ‘keeper could be set for a swift return to Serie A in a twist in plot with Napoli eyeing a possible summer deal.
