Greek first division club Xanthi announced on Tuesday they had fired coach Wolfgang Wolf after only just over two months in the post.
The 51-year-old German – hired on July 1 – had guided Xanthi to two defeats and a draw in their first three matches.
Wolf had previously coached eight seasons in the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg, FC Nuremberg and FC Kaiserslautern.
He was the second coaching casualty on Tuesday as Georgian Temuri Ketsbaia was sacked by Olympiakos, on the eve of their first Champions League group match with Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar.
