Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad is reporting that Wolfsburg have emerged as strong favourites to sign Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
The 22-year-old is determined to leave the Blues in the January transfer window in search of first team football and a return to German Bundesliga appears on the cards.
And even though Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia M’gladbach are all showing interest, it is believed the player prefers a switch to Wolfsburg.
The Wolves have already opened negotiations over an outright transfer, but have been told to fork out no less than €30 million for De Bruyne.
Wolfsburg are not exactly prepared to match the asking price, but they are readying a bid in excess of €20 million that could see them win the chase for the highly rated midfielder.
Kevin De Bruyne largely impressed while on loan at Werder Bremen last season, having managed 10 goals and 9 assists in 33 league outings.
