(GSM) – The UEFA Europa League tie between Rubin Kazan and VfL Wolfsburg could still go either way as the two held each other to a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

The Russian champions were first to draw blood in the 29th minute at Kazan’s Central’nyj stadium, with Christian Noboa directing the ball past keeper Hitz.

But Wolfsburg limited the damage in the second half, as Zvjezdan Misimovic equalised seven minutes after the hour.

The two sides will meet again in Wolfsburg on March 18.
