Bundesliga high flyers Wolfsburg are reportedly keen on Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro, Sport Bild has learned.
The Wolves are far from happy with Nicklas Bendtner’s contribution last season and they plan to offload the Denmark international at the earliest opportunity.
And the latest reports claim that Wolfsburg aim to sign veteran striker Claudio Pizarro as his replacement.
Current Wolves chief Klaus Allofs already signed the Peru star twice while at Werder and he now hopes to lure him to Volkswagen Arena as well.
Pizarro is a free agent after his contract with Bayern Munich came to an end, and everything suggests he will be staying in German Bundesliga.
The 36-year-old proved he still has a lot to offer with some very good performances for Peru at the 2015 Copa America, while his record of 176 Bundesliga goals has got to be respected.
Pizarro failed to find the net last season at Bayern, but he only started two league fixtures while making another eleven substitute appearances.
