Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Croatian striker Josip Brekalo.
The cost of the transfer was not disclosed, but it is believed the Wolves secured a very good deal considering that the youngster’s contract with Dinamo Zagreb was due to expire in a year’s time.
Brekalo in turn put pen to paper on a five-year deal and he is definitely one for the future at Volkswagen Arena.
The likes of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica were all believed to be keen on the 17-year-old footballer, but he eventually decided to join Wolfsburg.
Josip Brekalo impressed playing for Dinamo Zagreb in this year’s UEFA Youth League, scoring 3 goals in 5 outings.
Meanwhile, he also managed eight appearances for the senior team this season, while scoring his only senior goal up to date in the 4-0 derby win over Hajduk Split in Croatian Cup.
