Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon in the summer transfer window, according to Foot Mercato. The report in the French news outlet has claimed that Wolves have made an approach to sign the Portugal international midfielder.
Sporting are willing to sell Nunes in the summer transfer window, but the Portuguese giants want his release clause of €60million (£51.5million) paid in full. The 23-year-old made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in the Portuguese league last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in the process.
Wolves finished 10th in the Premier League last season with 51 points from 38 matches, while Sporting ended the past Portuguese Primeira Liga campaign second with 85 points from 34 matches.
