Wolves 8/13 to beat Derby in Wednesdays Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Wolves to beat Derby

Odds: 8/13 @ Bet365

For the Championship’s runaway league leaders, Wolves have now all but confirmed their spot in the Premier League next season, looking to move one step closer to the title they will welcome playoff hopefuls Derby to Molineux on Wednesday night.

For Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, coming off the back of their dramatic 1-0 win away at their closest rivals Cardiff on Friday night, the Champions Elect will be filled with confidence as Wolves now just stand two games away from booking their spot in the Premier League next season. Already with a staggering 19 point advantage over falling out of the automatic positions, Wolves now hold a nine-point advantage over the Bluebirds.  Wolves have also been in fine form in the final third, Wolves are unbeaten in their last five outings and have now scored 10 goals in their last five appearances, boasting the best attacking record in the Championship, midfielders Barry Douglas and Ivan Cavaleiro have 26 assists between them.

As for Gary Rowett’s Derby County side, despite the Rams being tipped as the Championship early favorites, a dreadful run of form in the second half of the season has seen Derby fall down the table and nearly out of the playoff positions. Now with just a three-point advantage over falling out of the top-six, Rowett’s side may have won their last two on the bounce but now have no other victories in their last 10 outings. If Derby want to shore up their playoff position then they will be reliant on forward Matej Vydra, the striker has 19 league goals and is the division’s top scorer.
