Wolves close in on Marcal

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Wolves are closing in on the signing of Lyon defender Fernando Marcal.

It’s been a tricky transfer window for Wolverhampton Wanderers – right up until yesterday when they broke their transfer record to sign Fabio Silva.

It’s clear to see that Nuno Espirito Santo wants to put forward as much late business as he possibly can in the name of improving his squad, especially after they sold Matt Doherty to Tottenham Hotspur.

Marcal has often received mixed reviews during his stint with the French club, but he did appear to play a solid enough role in helping them reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Wolves know that time is running out before the new Premier League season gets underway, and while they’ve been able to deal with having a small squad for the last few years, some think their luck is bound to run out.
