According to The Mirror, Wolverhampton Wanderers considered a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window. It has been reported that Liverpool striker Divock Origi was also under consideration at Wolves, but the Premier League club eventually signed Willian Jose on loan from Real Sociedad.
Wolves needed to sign a new striker in the January transfer window due to the head injury suffered by Raul Jimenez against Arsenal. It is not clear when the Mexico international striker will return to action for the Wanderers. Nuno’s side have signed Willian Jose as a short-term replacement, with the striker to stay at the club until the end of the season.
Giroud is a very experienced striker who has been a success in the Premier League with Arsenal. The Frenchman striker has contributed with important goals for Chelsea, but he is not guaranteed a place in the starting lineup.
