Wolves eye Butland swoop

Premier League new boys Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to the Express.

There is set to be a battle for the England international’s services should the Potters be relegated to the Championship and Wolves are keen to steal a march on their rivals as they look to build a squad that can compete in the top flight.

Butland moved to the Bet 365 Stadium from Birmingham City in the summer of 2014 and has since racked up a total of eighty-six appearances in all competitions.

He has been capped just seven times by his country but is almost certain to be a part of the squad that goes to this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia and could well be selected as the first choice goalkeeper.

Stoke are currently nineteenth in the league, three points with safety with two games left to play.
