Wolverhampton are still searching for their first home win in the Premier League since 2004 after playing out a 1-1 draw with Hull at Molineux on Saturday.
An early strike from Geovanni put Hull into the lead, but a second-half goal from Wolves defender Richard Stearman ensured the points were shared.
The Tigers, looking for their first away league win since March, made the perfect start with a third-minute goal from their Brazilian midfielder.
Ireland forward Stephen Hunt created the opportunity with smart wing play and a superb cross which Geovanni headed past Wayne Hennessey in the home goal.
The game continued at a breakneck pace and the home fans came to life when Ireland forward Andy Keogh went down in the penalty area but young referee Stuart Attwell waved away the appeals.
Wanderers’ long ball tactics and pressing game gradually turned the tide of the game and in-form striker Keogh nearly took advantage but his shot on the turn was saved by Boaz Myhill in the visitors’ goal.
Keogh was looking like the home team’s main threat and the former Scunthorpe man came close again on the stroke of half-time but pulled his shot wide of the target.
The second-half started as dramatically as the first, but this time it was the home team celebrating after Stearman equalised for Wolves.
A typically long-ball from defender Michael Mancienne caused havoc in the Tigers’ backline and former Leicester full-back Stearman nipped in to register Wanderers’ first home goal this season.
Both teams’ commitment to winning the game made for an open encounter and Keogh again asked questions of Myhill in the away goal but the American was equal to the task, saving well from the forward’s header.
Keogh had a golden opportunity to edge his team in front after being put through by a superb ball over the top but screwed his finish wide with only Myhill to beat.
Fellow Irishman Kevin Doyle, making his first Wolves start since his move from Reading, came even closer after beating Myhill with a fierce shot, but was denied by Michael Turner’s goalline clearance.
A final glorious opportunity to claim three points fell to Wanderers’ substitute Sam Vokes but the Wales international could not direct his header goalwards.
