According to The Daily Mall, Wolverhampton Wanderers have not given up on signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window. It has been reported that Wolves have had a bid of £15 million for the 23-year-old turned down, but the Wanderers are planning to make a new and improved offer.
Maitland-Niles, who can play as a midfielder, winger, full-back or wing-back, himself is considering leaving Arsenal. The 23-year-old wants regular playing time at club level and has ambitious to make himself an important player in the England national football team.
Wolves need a new right-back following the departure of Matt Doherty to Premier League rivals Tottenham earlier this summer. Maitland-Niles has done well at right-back, and he would be a good addition to manager Nuno’s squad, as they aim to challenge for the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.
