Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached a full agreement with Atletico Madrid over the proposed signing on Matheus Cunha, was well as with the player’s camp over the personal terms, according to Fabrizio Romano. The striker is now set to leave the Spanish capital on a an initial loan and move to the Molineux until the end of the season, when Wolves will be obligated to turn the deal into a permanent one for a fee set around €40-50 million providing certain conditions are met.
The 23-year-old attacker, fully capable of playing in any front-line role, has made a total of 17 club appearances in all competitions this term, but only two of those were starts. Obviously out of favour with Atletico boss Diego Simeone, he has failed to score a single goal and only provided two assists.
Everton were also said to be interested in the services of the eight-cap Brazil international, but Wolves have obviously won that race.
