Wolves snatch late draw as Newcastle and Sunderland claim wins

Wolves came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Swansea at Molineux in the Premier League‘s early kick-off.

The visitors took the lead on 23 minutes as Danny Graham scored from close range.

In the 35th minute Swansea doubled their lead, Danny Graham found space on the wing and found midfielder Joe Allen who scored from close range.

The whole Wolves team seemed flat but with six minutes left striker Kevin Doyle swept home from close range after Michel Vorm had saved Sam Vokes effort. And two minutes later it got even better for the home side as Jamie O’Hara fired home from inside the area from a Stephen Ward cross.

Swansea will feel like they have dropped two points here after thinking they had the victory wrapped up. Wolves fans won’t be delighted by the draw but it ends their long losing run.

Elsewhere Sunderland scored two late goals to win 2-0 at Bolton. The game was battle and it wasn’t until the 82nd minute that the deadlock was broken. Sunderland took the lead as Stephane Sessegnon turned and shot past Jussi Jaaskelainen after Paul Robinson had failed to clear a Sebastian Larsson corner.

And the Black Cats secured maximum points in injury-time, as Nicklas Bendtner latched onto a Sessegnon pass and fired past Jaaskelainen. The victory is a well needed one for under-pressure Mackems boss Steve Bruce. Its back to the drawing board for Bolton boss Owen Coyle.

Newcastle snatched a late 1-0 victory over Wigan at St James Park. It took the Magpies awhile to get going and finally took the lead in the 81st minute. Substitute Sylvain Marveaux turned on the edge of the area and found compatriot Yohan Cabaye, who fired home his first goal for the club.

Wigan have struggled away from home this season and will need to turn their away form around they are to survive this season. Newcastle’s superb start to the season continues.

West Brom won the Midlands derby beating Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park. The home side were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute as Ben Foster brought down Darren Bent in the penalty area. And the England striker made no mistake with the spot kick.

West Brom were awarded a penalty of their own in the 34th minute as the referee adjudged that Richard Dunne had handed in the Villa area. After the penalty was awarded Villa defender Chris Herd was shown a bizarre red card for a apparent stamp on Jonas Olsson.

West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt then missed the spot kick. However the Baggies weren’t to be denied for long as on the stroke of half-time Olsson heading home from a Chris Brunt corner kick. And West Brom were in front on 57 minutes, midfielder Paul Scharner brought the ball down on his chest before volleying high into the roof of the net.

The big talking point was definitely the bizarre sending-off of Chris Herd. Villa will still be disappointed to have lost this one though. The win and the three points will be very welcome at the Hawthorns.

In the late kick-off Liverpool drew 1-1 with Norwich at Anfield. The visitors rode their luck slightly in the first half but were undone just before half-time as striker Craig Bellamy’s deflected effort beat John Ruddy in the Canaries goal. Despite having the better of the game Liverpool conceded just on the hour mark.

Anthony Pilkington’s superb cross was met by substitute Grant Holt who sent a bullet header into the net with Pepe Reina completely stranded. Liverpool had chances to win the game but strikers Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll couldn’t convert them. Norwich’s hardwork deserved a point but Liverpool will be disappointed not to have take all three points.

I’ve said it time and again on here, Kenny Dalglish does not know what he’s doing at the helm. This is Damien Camolli’s team. Don’t get me wrong, I watched todays game, Liverpool’s offense was great and very unlucky to not end up with more goals. However: Kuyt should NOT be playing up front and Carroll MUST be playing striker with Suarez week in and week out. And at defence, what the hell does Dalglish have Carragher doing at CB?? Why isn’t Agger starting at CB week in and week out with Skrtel?? And if not Agger, why not Danny Wilson?? Why does he never see the light of day?? Play Carragher at one of the outside back positions, i dont care which one cuz frankly Enrique and Johnson both don’t know how to make tackles. Hodgson knew what he was doing in charge and is such a better manager than Kenny Dalglish. Who did Hodgson spend months on sweet-talking into joining the club? Oh yeah, arguably our best player on the field, Luis Suarez. Its too bad he was ousted before Suarez put pen to paper so it went down as Dalglish’s accomplishment.
