Wolverhampton Wanderers have placed four of their top earners on the transfer list as new manager Kenny Jackett looks to make his mark ahead of the forthcoming League One season.
Captain Karl Henry, Jamie O’Hara, Roger Johnson and Stephen Ward have all been told they can leave the club, who dropped out of the Championship last season – their second relegation in as many years.
Midfielder Henry has made over 250 appearances for the club, and regained the captain’s armband last season having lost in to Johnson who signed for £8million from local rivals Birmingham City ahead of the ill-fated Premier League campaign of 2011/12.
Jamie O’ Hara signed a permanent deal two weeks before Johnson, having originally joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2011, while Steven Ward joined form Irish Premier Division side Bohemians back in 2006.
The Republic of Ireland international played all but four games in the clubs Championship winning campaign of 2008/2009.
