World Cup winner offered Ukraine job

Former Italy boss Marcelo Lippi has reportedly been offered a chance to coach Ukraine, one of the co-hosts of Euro 2012.

The coach who had led Italy to World Cup title in 2006 has been without a job ever since the Azzurri were knocked out of the World Cup in South Africa.

Lippi said on numerous occasions that he was ready for the return to coaching and he has been linked with Roma, Juventus and Milan among others.

According to reports from Italy, Ukraine have already set up a meeting with Lippi which is planned for next week, with the experienced tactician expected to take over from February 2011.

Yuri Kalitvinsev is currently in charge of the team on interim basis and he could be given the sack following Ukraine’s friendly game with Switzerland next Wednesday.
