Would Barca be the right move for Giuseppe Rossi?

The summer transfer speculation has now gone into overdrive.

One of the most interesting stories to be doing the rounds is a potential move for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi to European Champions Barcelona.

Dream

Giuseppe Rossi has described a potential move to Barcelona as a dream.

Then again a move to Barcelona would be a dream move for any player, unless they are a diehard Madridista that is.

Sensational

The Italian international was sensational for the Yellow Submarine last season scoring 32 goals in all competitions. His goals helped the club secure a Champions League qualification berth.

He has always had quality but he is now scoring on a consistent basis. He has had his best season ever and he is now attracting the interest of some Europe’s top clubs.

United

The 24 year-old started off his professional career at Manchester United after coming through the youth ranks at Italian side Parma. Although he showed immense promise at Old Trafford he never managed to become a first team regular in Manchester.

The USA born star was loaned out to Newcastle and former-club Parma before making the switch to La Liga side Villarreal. He has flourished in Spain and in recent seasons has been linked with a move back Manchester United.

The English Champions are believed to be interested in re-signing the 24 year-old this summer but it looks as though he has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona

The current Barcelona team are the best of their generation. However every team can benefit from a few good squad additions every so often. The question is though where would Rossi fit in at Barca?

The forward line of Barcelona of Lionel Messi, David Villa and Pedro were fantastic last season. I can’t see him replacing any of those players in the starting eleven next season. If he did move to Barca he would be an extra attacking option but it could prove a bad move for him  at this point in his career.

Starter

I believe that Giuseppe Rossi would be better off staying at Villarreal or moving to a club that can offer him regular first team football. After the season that he has just had he’s unlikely to have a shortage of options.

It’s just a matter of a club being able to make Villarreal’s reported £25million valuation of the player. Only big clubs will be able to afford that sort of fee.

Champions League

Next season if Giuseppe Rossi stays at Villarreal then he will experience Champions League football. He must think long and hard before he leaves the club who have placed so much faith in him.

Hoping

Villarreal are hoping that Giuseppe Rossi decides to stay with their club. They are trying to keep their best players for their assault on the Champions League next season but could struggle to keep their star striker this summer. He signed a contract extension earlier this year but contracts mean nothing nowadays.

I don’t think another season with Villarreal will do his career any harm at all. In fact another season playing for Villarreal may enhance his reputation as a top player. If he moves to Barcelona I fear that Rossi could become just a bit-part player and his talent will be wasted.

Would Giuseppe Rossi be a good signing for Barcelona?

i think only fool would reject such offer and my analysis say rossi and barca r made for eachother stuffs and should grab such destination in order to prove himself with loaded talent in him which would stirr like milk in sugar and would be ultimate benefit to both the club abd the star thid id i thing best new for Barca amd the player in order to reach such great height of soccer in la liga where Real r buying hips of talents from around the globe…….

Rossi is a best bid for barca considering last to years signing, a better choice even comparing my fav Villa. young enthusiastic, skillfull, a great composure overall. Barca should grab the opportunity of such signing so as to strenthen the line up, and to stay in shape-ups as their rivals Real spent criminal money in bringing mass talents at SB. Rossi fir me could reveal as equally imp player for Catalans as Messi,Xavi or Iniesta…….Yep for me go go go go go go Barca go

Actually I think Rossi is a better fit for Barca then Fabregas even and would play more than him as well.. both would keep the bench toasty warm, but I don’t think Barca can afford both.
Remember David Villa having scoring problems for most of the second half of last season (he scored just 2 since Feb, incl the CL final)? Do you think that happens if there is a striker besides Bojan waiting to prove himself?
So I think it would be a good move for Barca, competition is always good within a team, but not so much for Rossi – who definitely would not get the same minutes as he did this past season.
