Wright-Phillips has turned down loan approaches

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that Shaun Wright Phillips has turned down the opportunity to go out on loan, according to the Daily Star.

The winger, who moved to Loftus Road from Manchester City in the summer of 2011 has made sixty-nine appearances for the London club, though only one of those has come this season.

Aside from that start, that came in the shock defeat to League Two Burton Albion in the second round of the Capital One Cup, he has only made the Hoops’ match day squad on occasion, though he has not yet been tempted to leave on a temporary basis, despite clubs showing an interest.

QPR beat struggling Aston Villa on Monday evening to move off the bottom of the table, and they will hope to move further away from trouble when they take on another of Wright-Phillip’s former clubs Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
